Henschel and Phänomen Granit 29/52 30/52

I got three new designs back from Shapeways.
The Henschel D33 comes seperat and as a set of two.
The next new design is the German Phänomen Granit as an Ambulance. 
I have one more design but I need to change  the drawing a bit before I can publish it.

Ganz auf die Schnelle, es gibt drei neue Modelle von mir. Den Henschel D33 gibt es mit Pritsche und als Doppelpack mit Pritsche / Plane.

Weiter gibt es den Phänomen Granit als Krankenwagen, in der ersten Ausführung.

Der Phänomen Granit kommt in der ursprünglichen Ausführung, während des Krieges wurde das Design immer wieder angepasst und selbst in der späteren DDR wurde das Fahrzeug noch lange weiter gebaut, jedoch unter anderem Namen.

British - American Landing Craft Tank - LCT Part I 28/52

The landing craft tank was after the LCM, the landing craft mechanized, the next bigger unit. Original a British design, the Americans cooperated with the British Navy and used the LCT in their Navy as well. Mark 5 was the first in the USA built version. They saw action on all theaters, D-Day, Mediterranean Area and Pacific. Even in the Korea and Vietnam war, some of them were still in use.

At the moment I wait for my second version. Based on the first prototype, I changed and added some details. With the final version you will get two rubber / rescue boats, a hand railing around the backside, changed the stairs a bit....

Deutsche Version

Das Landing Craft Tank war die nächst grössere Einheit der Allierten bei der Landung am D-Day. Das grösste Schiff, war das Landing Ship tank /LST). Aber das LCT ist schon ein sehr schönes Modell. Es konnte 5 Shermans oder 5 britische Churchills laden und an Land bringen.

Die Entwicklung der Landungsboote haben die Briten direkt nach Dünkirchen angefangen, mit dem Typ 5, sind die Amerikaner dann mit eingestiegen und haben diese Version dann gleich mit übernommen und auch in den USA gebaut. Daher auch der Typ 5, da dieser sowohl von der US Navy und von der Royal Navy eingesetzt wurde. Ich habe gelesen, dass die letzten Einheiten noch im Korea und Vietnam Krieg zum Einsatz kamen.

Das Steuerhaus wurde mit einem begehbaren Dach ergänzt, hier gab es wohl unterschiedliche Versionen

Die Rampe wird hoffentlich mit dem nächsten Protoypen beweglich sein.

Aktuell habe ich einen 2. Prototyp bestellt, der bekommt am Ruderhaus eine Rehling, die Treppen habe ich überarbeitet, die Rampe sollte jetzt beweglich sein und wer möchte, kann das Dach erhöhen. Weiter kommt die neue Version dann auch mit den beiden MGs, die das Schiff als Bewaffnung hatte.

The idea for for the Leyland Hippo was more love on the first look than a rational decision. Even I still have / or want to follow the wishes from some of you, I decided to go with this British lorry. First I really like the lorry; it is a nice looking design , secondly I do not have so much British tanks and lorries in my collection. So why not a New British lorry? The Leyland came late in the war and is not so popular like the 2 axis designs. The version with the Coles crane was existing in Malta and was used by the British Army. Maybe I will find later a nice trailer, so that the lorry will come later in a double pack.

Deutsche Version

Eher spontan habe ich den Leyland Hippo gezeichnet. Eigentlich sollte ich erst einmal meine ganzen Versprechen einlösen und angefangene Ideen fertig umsetzen. Aber ich fand den LKW so interessant, dass ich nicht widerstehen konnte. Dann die Version mit dem Coles Kran, die gab es wohl zumindest bei der Britischen Armee auf der Insel Malta. Den Kran hatte ich ja schon.  Das Original ist wohl eher unbekannt, wohl weil er erst spät im Krieg und dann vorwiegend bei Support und Transporteinheiten zum Einsatz kam. Mal sehen, vielleicht kommt später noch ein Anhänger oder irgendwas mit einem Rohr dazu.

RAF and British Army lorries / neue britische Fahrzeuge 26/52

As I already have several RAF ground vehicles, I decided to build two more. The Thornycraft Amazon fits perfectly to my collection of RAF ground equipment. The Albion tractor was more an accident. But somehow I like him and the tank transport trailer was a simple design. Maybe I will later add the Albion 3 axis lorry as well.

Da ich ja schon einige RAF Modelle habe, wollte ich diesen Bereich mit 2 weiteren Modellen ausbauen. Insbesondere der RAF Amazon Kran passt ja perfekt zu meiner Sammlung von Bergefahrzeugen. Der Panzertransporter mit der Albion Zugmaschine hatte ich in einem alten Heft über RAF Fahrzeuge gefunden. Er schliesst dann die Lücke zwischen den ersten Bergefahrzeugen und dem später eingeführten Set mit dem M19, der Diamond Zugmaschine.
