Obice da 305/17, Mörser aus dem 1. Weltkrieg in 1/144

Ich weiss auch nicht so recht, wie es gekommen ist, ich sollte andere Modelle zeichnen. Aber ich fand das Modell interessant und eine brauchbare Zeichnung lag auch vor.

Also habe ich mich hingesetzt und einen Mörser aus dem Ersten Weltkrieg gezeichnet. Das Modell gibt es schon mehr oder weniger schön bei Shapeways, also habe ich mich hingesetzt und habe noch etwas Zubehör ergänzt, was die anderen Modelle nicht aufweisen. Das Original wurde teilweise auf einem Drehteller befestigt. Den habe ich jetzt nicht gezeichnet, der lässt sich schnell selbst herstellen. Von dem Mörser gab es auch eine fahrbare Variante, die nach meinem Geschmack einfach nur hässlich ist. Aber es scheint ein sehr brauchbarer Mörser gewesen zu sein, und die wenigen Fotos vom Original lassen erahnen, was für eine Mammutaufgabe es gewesen sein muss, den Mörser zu bewegen.  

Das Modell kommt mit einem beweglichen Kanonenrohr, Munition und Ladekarren. Voraussichtlich Anfang Sommer wird das Modell dann erhältlich sein.

I don't really know how it came about, I was supposed to draw other models. But I found the model interesting and I also had a usable drawing.

So I sat down and drew a mortar from the First World War. The model is already more or less available at Shapeways, so I sat down and added some accessories that the other models don't have. The original was partially mounted on a turntable. I didn't draw this, it's easy to make yourself. There was also a mobile version of the mortar, which to my taste is just ugly. But it seems to have been a very useful mortar, and the few photos of the original give an idea of what a mammoth task it must have been to move the mortar.  

The model comes with a movable gun barrel, ammunition and loading cart. The model is expected to be available at the beginning of summer.

Eine Realisierung hat diese Studie ja nie gesehen, Wohl wurde noch nicht einmal ein Holzmodell erstellt, es gibt nur 2 Skizzen dazu. Aber da ich in letzter Zeit einiges an Panzertransportern gezeichnet hatte, wollte ich mal eine Ausnahme machen und auch ein fiktives Modell umsetzen. Das Modell wurde nur angemalt, weitere Verfeinerungen habe ich aus Zeitmangel nicht vorgenommen.

11/144 60 cm Suchscheinwerfer // Horch with 60 cm search light

Vor einigen Wochen musste ich ja den großen Suchscheinwerfer komplett überarbeiten. Da kam dann schon die Idee, doch endlich mal den kleinen, 60 cm Suchscheinwerfer zu zeichnen. Ich habe schon seit vielen Jahren das schöne Set von www.combatgroupdynamix.com zusammen mit der Krupp Protze. Dabei ist mir dann aufgefallen, dass ich einen Grossteil bereits habe, den Anhänger, den Maschinensatz, und als Alternative zur Krupp Protze, den Horch schwerer Einheits-PKW.

Also habe ich den 60 cm Suchscheinwerfer auch noch gezeichnet, alles in einem Set zusammengefügt und somit auch gleichzeitig eine neue Variante des Einheits-PKW geschaffen. 

Das Set kommt mit 2 Horch Einheits-PKW, 2 Suchscheinwerfer mit Anhänger und einem Maschinensatz.

1/144 Horch Einheits-PKW with 60 cm search light

A few weeks ago, I had to completely rework the large searchlight. Then I had the idea of finally drawing the small, 60 cm searchlight. I've had the beautiful set from combatgroupdynamix.com together with the Krupp protze for many years. Then I realized that I already have a large part of it, the trailer, the machine set, and as an alternative to the Krupp Protze, the Horch heavy unit car.

So I also drew the 60 cm searchlight, put everything together in a set and thus created a new variant of the Einheits-PKW at the same time. 

The set comes with 2 Horch Einheits-PKW, 2 searchlights with trailer and a set of machinery.

Neben dem Lancia 3 Ro gab es noch weitere Fahrzeuge die als Trägerfahrzeug für die Autocannone 90/53 dienten. Eine Variante war der Breda LKW. Da ich ja bereits eine Breda Version (Doppelkabine als Zugfahrzeug für den italienischen Panzeranhänger gezeichnet hatte, wollte ich noch schnell den Breda LKW mit dem kurzen Führerhaus zeichnen. Leider habe ich mich dabei ziemlich verschätzt. Einfach den Aufbau draufsetzen, war nicht. Es gab zwischen den beiden Ausführungen doch mehr Unterschiede, als mit am Anfang auffiel. So habe ich mich hier recht gut verschätzt. Aber jetzt ist der LKW fertig und ich habe sogar etwas Besonderes gezeichnet. Der Breda hatte einen Anhänger, mit Doppelbereifung, zum Transport von Munition. Daher wird es zwei Versionen geben, einmal mit dem Anhänger und einmal nur die Autocannone. Beiden Modellen ist gemeinsam, dass die Kanone drehbar ist, die Abstützungen können in verschiedenen Stellungen angeklebt werden.

In addition to the Lancia 3 Ro, there were other vehicles that served as carriers for the Autocannone 90/53. One variant was the Breda truck. Since I had already drawn a Breda version (double cab as towing vehicle for the Italian armored trailer), I wanted to quickly draw the Breda truck with the short driver's cab. Unfortunately, I made quite a mistake. I couldn't just put the body on it. There were more differences between the two versions than I realized at the beginning. So I made a pretty good estimate here. But now the truck is finished and I've even drawn something special. The Breda had a trailer with double tires for transporting ammunition. So there will be two versions, one with the trailer and one with just the Autocannone. What both models have in common is that the cannon can be rotated and the outriggers can be glued in different positions.

09/52 1/144 Diorama Bunker mit Entfernungsmesser // Diorama with range searcher in XXL

1/144 Bunker mit Entfernungsmesser in Dänemark

Heute stelle ich noch ein weiteres Diorama vor. Es handelt sich um einen Bunker, eine Sonderform, die es so wohl nur in Dänemark gab. Jedenfalls konnte ich keine Regelbau-Nummer für diese Form finden. Zum Glück fand ich eine Zeichnung des Bunkers, sodass ich diesen nachbauen konnte. In Dänemark kam schwere Schiffsartillerie an Land zum Einsatz. Diese wurde zuerst offen und dann später teilweise zum Einsatz gebracht. Diese schweren Geschütze mussten, wie alle anderen Geschütze auch, Zieldaten bekommen. In Dänemark wurden diese großen Entfernungsmesser mit einer Stahlkuppel geschützt und auf einen Bunker gesetzt, in dem es diverse Räume zur Ziel-Datenerfassung und Verarbeitung gab. Den Entfernungsmesser habe ich bereits hier vorgestellt. Der Bunker ist nichts anderes als ein großer Klotz aus Beton, eine Tür und das war es. Daher war der Nachbau auch recht einfach. Ich habe einfach Reste zurechtgeschnitten und alles aus Foam zusammengeklebt. Die Außenseiten habe ich dann verspachtelt und alles geschliffen. Graue Farbe und schon ist der Bunker fertig. Der Entfernungsmesser habe ich mittig auf das Dach geklebt, so wie man es auf den Fotos von den Original Bunkern sieht. Noch etwas Gras und ein paar Bäume und schon war das Diorama fertig. 
Übrigens ist Hanstholm ein sehr interessanter Ort. Dort hatte die Wehrmacht bzw. Kriegsmarine nach und nach einen riesigen Bunkerkomplex angelegt mit allem, was man zur Versorgung eines so großen Stützpunktes braucht. So gab es dort auch eine Feldbahn / Schmalspurbahn zum Transport der Munition vom Bunker zum Geschütz. Die Bahn fährt heute wieder einen Teil der Strecke und kann von Besuchern benutzt werden. Today I am presenting another diorama. This is a bunker, a special shape that probably only existed in Denmark. In any case, I could not find a standard building number for this shape. In any case, I could not find a standard construction number for this shape. Fortunately, I found a drawing of the bunker so that I was able to recreate it. In Denmark, heavy naval artillery was used on land. This was initially open and then later partially deployed. These heavy guns, like all other guns, had to be given target data. In Denmark, these large rangefinders were protected with a steel dome and placed on a bunker, in which there were various rooms for target data acquisition and processing. I have already presented the rangefinder here. The bunker is nothing more than a large block of concrete, one door and that's it. The replica was therefore quite simple. I simply cut up scraps and glued everything together from foam. I then filled the outer sides and sanded everything. Grey paint and the bunker is finished. I glued the rangefinder to the center of the roof, just like you can see in the photos of the original bunkers. I added some grass and a few trees and the diorama was finished. 
Incidentally, Hanstholm is a very interesting place. The Wehrmacht or Kriegsmarine had gradually built a huge bunker complex there with everything you need to supply such a large base. There was also a light railroad / narrow-gauge railroad to transport the ammunition from the bunker to the gun. Today, part of the line is still in operation and can be used by visitors. 08/52 neues Diorama Schmalspurbahn zum Munitionstransport

Am letzten Wochenende habe ich mal wieder ein neues Diorama fertiggestellt. Für das Schmalspur-Set mit der Munitionsbahn habe ich ein kleines Diorama mit einem Bunkereingang gebaut. Wie der Titel oben schon verrät, bin ich durch das Bunkermuseum in Hanstholm auf die Idee gekommen, eine solche Bahn zu zeichnen und drucken zu lassen. Auf dem Gelände des Stützpunktes in Hanstholm gab es eine solche Bahn, die die Munition von vier Bunkern abholte und an die Geschütze verteilte. Insbesondere die Geschütze für die 38 cm Kanone geben optisch schon was her. Hier gibt es ein Bild von der Munitionsbahn zu Zeiten der deutschen Besetzung von Dänemark: Munitionsbahn

Noch kurz was zum Diorama, der Rahmen ist noch aus den USA, vom 1-Dollar Shop. Foam dient als Grundlage, die Erhebungen sind mit Spachtelmasse erstellt und dann noch etwas modelliert worden. Etwas Farbe, Gras, Sträucher und ein paar Bäume und fertig. Der Bunker ist wie immer aus einem Styrodur-Block geschnitten und nur hellgrau eingefärbt. Alle Gleise sind 3D gedruckt und wurden von mir nur matt schwarz lackiert.

Last weekend I completed another new diorama. I built a small diorama with a bunker entrance for the narrow gauge set with the ammunition train. As the title above suggests, the bunker museum in Hanstholm gave me the idea of drawing and printing such a railroad. On the grounds of the base in Hanstholm there was such a train that collected the ammunition from four bunkers and distributed it to the guns. The guns for the 38 cm cannon are particularly impressive. Here is a picture of the ammunition train during the German occupation of Denmark: Munitionsbahn

A short note on the diorama, the frame is still from the USA, from the 1 dollar store. Foam serves as a base, the elevations were created with putty and then modeled a bit. A little paint, grass, bushes and a few trees and that's it. As always, the bunker is cut from a Styrodur / Foam block and only colored light grey. All the tracks are 3D printed and I only painted them mat black.

07/52 neue Schmalspursets und neues Diorama

1/144 Schmalspur Sets - Neuheiten und Gesamtübersicht

In den letzten Tagen habe ich meine neuen Sets für Schmalspur-Eisenbahnen fertig angemalt und auch alle nochmals geprüft. Alle Sets können jetzt via Shapeways bestellt werden. Gleichzeitig habe ich ein vor langer Zeit angefangenes Diorama wieder herausgeholt und endlich fertig gestellt. Somit kann ich jetzt auch die Modelle schön in Szene setzen. Das Diorama werde ich auf meiner Seite für Dioramen (Link einfügen) vorstellen und auch ein paar Fotos mit verschiedenen Modellen, zeigen. 06/52 850 Modelle und ein neuer Flaksuchscheinwerfer

850 Modelle und ein neues altes Modell

Seit heute habe ich 850 Modelle in meinem Shop. Bin selbst erstaunt, es werden immer mehr. Gleichzeitig ist die Pflege mittlerweile ein nicht zu unterschätzender Punkt. Letzte Woche bestellte ein Kunde ein ganz altes Modell, den 150 cm Suchscheinwerfer. Das Modell ist sehr alt, ganz vom Anfang. Wenn ich heute die Zeichnung sehe, laufe ich weg. Und dann passiert es! Plötzlich reklamiert Shapeways eine Stelle am Modell als zu dünn, sie könnten es nicht drucken. Diskutieren ist leider zwecklos, auch wenn das Modell schon 20 x problemlos gedruckt wurde. Also stand ich vor der Entscheidung, was ich machen soll. Letztlich habe ich mich entschlossen, das Modell komplett neu zu zeichnen. Dabei habe ich alte Fehler korrigiert, Details ergänzt und einige Punkte neu hinzugefügt. Dabei fiel mir auf, wie oft der Suchscheinwerfer geändert wurde. Die Radabdeckungen wurden geändert, der Scheinwerfer hatte (am Anfang?) rechts und links zwei dicke Rohre als Halterung, später wurden diese durch ein geschlossenes Profil geändert. Die Drehscheibe war mal gelocht, mal mit größeren Aussparungen. Jetzt ist das Modell wieder okay und ich warte auf das nächste Modell, welches überarbeitet werden muss.

850 models and a new old model

As of today I have 850 models in my store. I'm amazed at myself, there are more and more. At the same time, maintenance is now a point that should not be underestimated. Last week a customer ordered a very old model, the 150 cm searchlight. The model is very old, from the very beginning. When I see the drawing today, I run away. And then it happens! Suddenly Shapeways complains that a part of the model is too thin and they can't print it. Unfortunately, there's no point in arguing, even if the model has already been printed 20 times without any problems. So I was faced with the decision of what to do. In the end, I decided to completely redraw the model. I corrected old mistakes, added details and added some new points. I noticed how often the searchlight was changed. The wheel covers were changed, the headlight had (at the beginning?) two thick tubes on the right and left as a holder, later these were changed to a closed profile. The turntable was sometimes perforated, sometimes with larger recesses. Now the model is okay again and I'm waiting for the next model, which has to be reworked.

Britischer Schmalspur- Zug 1. Weltkrieg in 1/144

Das neue Schmalspur-Set für Dioramen in 1/144 ist das Ergebnis eines ziemlich verregneten Sonntag Nachmittags. Da ich nichts vorhatte, meine Frau unterwegs war und das Wetter keine Gartenarbeit zugelassen hatte, blieb mir praktisch nichts anderes übrig, als zu zeichnen. So kam es, dass ich wieder ein neues Set mit Schmalspur-Modellen erschaffen habe. In Gedanken noch bei dem Modell des Aufklärungsballons aus dem 1. Weltkrieg, suchte ich im Netz nach britischen Vorlagen. Schnell bin ich auf zwei Lokomotiven gestoßen, wobei ich eine schon vom Sehen her kannte. Das zweite Modell kannte ich noch nicht. Als ich auch noch Zeichnungen gefunden hatte, war die Umsetzung extrem schnell erledigt. Auch entsprechende Wagons ließen sich recht schnell finden, weshalb es halt gleich einen kompletten Zug gab. Somit habe ich jetzt einen französischen, einen englischen und einen deutschen Zug, jeweils aus der Epoche des 1. Weltkrieges im Programm. Vielleicht baue ich dann im Laufe des Jahres auch noch ein entsprechendes Diorama. Wer Anregung sucht, es gibt von Samy Modellbau ein sehr schönes Diorama und im Video zeigt er auch die Entstehung der Modelle und des Dioramas, alles in 1-144.

Alle meine Schmalspur-Modelle passen auf meine 4 mm Schienen und sind nicht motorisierbar.

British narrow gauge train 1st world war in 1/144

The new narrow gauge set for dioramas in 1/144 is the result of a rather rainy Sunday afternoon. As I had no plans, my wife was out and the weather didn't allow any gardening, I had practically no choice but to draw. So I ended up creating another set of narrow gauge models. Still thinking about the model of the reconnaissance balloon from the First World War, I searched the net for British models. I quickly came across two locomotives, one of which I already knew by sight. I did not yet know the second model. When I also found drawings, the conversion was done extremely quickly. The corresponding wagons were also easy to find, which is why I ended up with a complete train. So I now have a French, an English and a German train, each from the era of the First World War in my program. Perhaps I will also build a corresponding diorama in the course of the year. If you are looking for inspiration, there is a very nice diorama from Samy Modellbau and in the video he also shows the creation of the models and the diorama, all in 1-144.
