Schlitten II als komplettes Set in 1/144

Das kleine Schnellboot Schlitten II hatte ich bereits letztes Jahr hier im Blog vorgestellt.  Jetzt kommt der nächste Schritt, das Schnellboot als Transport-Set, also ein Henschel D33 als Zugfahrzeug, der Schlitten II und der Anhänger, der als Slipanhänger diente, so dass das Schnellboot direkt vom Anhänger aus ins Wasser gelassen werden konnte.

Den Schlitten II gab es nur einmal als Prototyp, vom Anhänger habe ich auch nur ein Foto gefunden, deshalb sind halt einige Details reine Spekulation. Dennoch habe ich das Modell so konstruiert, dass der Anhänger auch das Entladen darstellen kann, jedoch beim Trennen aufpassen, dass man nicht aus Versehen die falschen Teile abschneidet.

Für den Shop habe ich den Anhänger noch etwas verstärkt, so dass er etwas stabiler ist.

I already presented the small speedboat Schlitten II last year here in the blog.  Now comes the next step, the speedboat as a transport set, i.e. a Henschel D33 as towing vehicle, the Schlitten II and the trailer, which served as slip trailer, so that the speedboat could be launched directly from the trailer into the water.

The Schlitten II existed only once as a prototype, of the trailer I have found only one photo, so some details are pure speculation. Nevertheless, I constructed the model in such a way that the trailer can also represent the unloading, but when separating, be careful not to accidentally cut off the wrong parts.

For the store I reinforced the trailer a little bit, so that it is a bit more stable.

Ein Schlitten der Baden ging

Mit dem Begriff Schlitten verbinden die meisten Menschen wohl eher ein Sportgerät für Kinder bzw. für den Wintersport. Aber unter dem Begriff Schlitten II gab es auch eine Entwicklung der deutschen K-Verbände zum Ende des Krieges. Schlitten II war ein kleines Schnellboot, welches mit 2 Torpedos bewaffnet war.  Mehr über die Geschichte des Schlittens kann man hier nachlesen: Wikipedia.

Ïm Internet findet man einen Spanntenriss und verschiedene Fotos vom Orignial. Auch wenn es keine Kampfeinsätze gab, so hat es der Prototyp zumindest über das Reissbrett hinaus geschafft. Also habe ich mich entschlossen das Modell zu zeichnen, auch wenn es ja nicht wirklich zu mir passt. Lauter Rundungen, Kreise und Übergänge, machten die Konstruktion nicht ganz einfach. Da der Bootskröper aber symetrisch ist, war dann die Konstruktion doch nicht so schwer. Da ich kein entsprechendes Programm habe, musste ich das Modell von Hand aushöhlen und dünner machen. Die beiden Torpedos habe ich auch neu gezeichnet, die alten Designs wollte ich nicht nutzen. 

Das Original hat vorne eine gebogene Plexiglashaube. Zuerst wollte ich diese seperat zeichnen, jedoch hätte dies zu vielen neuen Problemen geführt, da ich ja mindestens 0.7 mm Wandstärke zum Drucken brauche. Also ist sie jetzt am Modell dran. Man muss diese entweder entsprechend anmalen oder nachher abfeilen und sich ein entsprechendes Stück Folie zurecht schneiden.

Leider kann ich aktuell nur das 3 D Modell zeichnen, Shapeways hat gerade ein kleines Problem.

Ich habe noch eine weitere Neuheit gezeichnet, die ist so gross, dass Shapeways nur 3 Drucker hat, auf denen das Modell gedruckt werden kann. Also warten über 10 neue Modelle darauf, dass dieses Modell endlich fertig wird. Ich hoffe Ende August / Anfang September kann ich dann alle Neuheiten endlich vorstellen.

A sled that went swimming

Most people probably associate the term sled with a piece of sports equipment for children or for winter sports. But under the term Schlitten II there was also a development of the German K-units at the end of the war. Schlitten II was a small speedboat armed with 2 torpedoes.  You can read more about the history of the Schlitten here: Wikipedia.

On the Internet you can find a crack of the sledge and several photos of the original. Even if there were no combat missions, the prototype at least made it beyond the drawing board. So I decided to draw the model, even though it doesn't really suit me. Loud curves, circles and transitions, made the construction not so easy. But since the boat hull is symmetrical, the construction was not so difficult. Since I don't have an appropriate program, I had to hollow out the model by hand and make it thinner. I also redrew the two torpedoes, I didn't want to use the old designs. 

The original has a curved plexiglas canopy in the front. At first I wanted to draw this separately, but this would have led to many new problems, because I need at least 0.7 mm wall thickness for printing. So now it is attached to the model. You either have to paint it accordingly or file it off afterwards and cut an appropriate piece of foil.

Unfortunately I can currently only draw the 3 D model, Shapeways is having a bit of a problem right now.

I have drawn another new model, it is so big that Shapeways only has 3 printers to print the model on. So there are over 10 new models waiting for this one to finally be finished. I hope at the end of August / beginning of September I can finally present all the new models.

1/144 German Sturmboot 42 04/52

Mit komplizierten Schiffsrümpfen habe ich es ja immer noch nicht so, da reichen meine Fertigkeiten einfach nicht aus.
Aber immerhin, das Sturmboot 42 konnte ich zeichnen und auch recht gut innen aushöhlen.
In der Reihe von Kleinfahrzeugen fehlte es mir noch. Allerdings wenn man an das Sturmboot 39 denkt, dann ist das Sturmboot 42 ein Riesensprung. Statt 9 Mann, geht hier gleich ein ganzer Infanteriezug von 40 Mann ins Boot. Auch war das grosse Sturmboot 42  hochseetauglich. Besonders schön ist, dass man so ziemlich jede Form von Lackierung verwenden kann, da das Boot von Norwegen bis hin zum Mittelmeerraum zum Einsatz kam.

Mein Modell kommt in der Grundform, es gab extrem viele Varianten. Bewaffnung reichte von dem MG 42 bis hin zu Zwilling und Drilling-MG.

The German Sturmboot 42 was the much bigger version of the Sturmboot 39. Instead of 9 men, now 40 infantry soldiers could be seated. Additionally the boat was able to go to the open sea. My design shows the basic version, many modifications were made by the troops itself. As the Sturmboot 42 was used on all theaters, nearly all painting is possible.

German Fast Attack Boat S-100 now in 1/144

Just my accident I saw some weeks ago, that there is a company selling the German Fast Attack Boat S-100 in 1/144.
But as it was the Bonus for ordering a collection of ships in the scale 1/1250, I was pressed to order these ships first, before I could get a Speed Boat.
Yesterday after getting several ships in the scale 1/1250, I got my Fast Attack Boat.
Any chance to get a second one, without ordering all these other ships, failed. On Ebay I found two times a chance to bit on one, but both times they were sold much to high for me. Since that I never saw them again on Ebay.
Anyway, now I have my one version and I will give him a special spot in my collection.
