Stopping for Some Water in the 1/144 Dessert

As the desert has always been my favorite campaign, here an unfinished small diorama.
The foundation is made of a Dragon box. To get a dessert ground, I put glue on it and spread fine sand over everything. Once the sand has dried I started with the houses.
The houses have a wooden core which I cover with a kind of clay. The rest of the red color you can see on the picture is from that clay. Once you have modeled the houses, I put them in the oven to be heated for around 20-30 min. Now you can paint them.
The fountain is made out of the same material. To get the round shape I used a pencil.
This project was more a test for me to learn how to use this clay for house building.
So I hope you like my very small African village.

Jungle fighting in 1/144

Today I want show you some pictures I made while I tried to put my US Marines and a Sherman into the right surroundings.

The basement is a food package which I filled with gypsum and then later I took to work out the diorama. For the flowers and the grass I used whatever I found during a walk to the woods. So see what the result is.

Winter fighting or a Hetzer on his way to Bastogne

As there are so many dioramas with summer topics, I wanted to try it with a winter theme.
I used the following vehicles:
  • German Hetzer from Dragon
  • GMC truck from 21 th Century
  • US Sherman M4 from Dragon
  • Soldiers from Pegasus
For the basement I used an old piece of wood which I brought into a rectangular size. Then I used a router to shape a 5 mm deep form into the wood. In this deeper form I pressed a kind of soft clay to create something like a way with an intersection.

After drying I made the first test in which way the vehicles would fit best.

Then I added some trees and of course the snow.
I hope you enjoy my small diorama even the snow maybe is not fine enough.

here I put for some time a Puma on the diorama

1/144 french tank somewhere in France

Here I present a small diorama I built some time ago.
The basement is a gypsum form and some trees - that's it.
The tank is from the Panzer Depot and not modified at all.
The trees are all hand made.
