Diese Woche habe ich eine E-Mail von Shapeways bekommen. Nächsten Monat wollen sie wieder die Möglichkeit zum Verkauf von 3D Modellen erlauben. Die Abwicklung soll über die Plattform Thangs erfolgen. Vielmehr weiss ich auch noch nicht, aber Ende Februar wird es eine Infoveranstaltung geben, wie es genau funktionieren soll.

Panzerfabrik 144 launches new store
This week I received an e-mail from Shapeways. Next month they want to allow the sale of 3D models again. The processing will be done via the Thangs platform. I don't know much more yet, but there will be an information event at the end of February to explain exactly how it will work.
Am Wochenende habe ich mal wieder dien Weg in meinen Keller gefunden und angefangen was Neues zu bauen. Herausgekommen ist ein kleines Diorama, welches in nur ein paar Stunden fertig war. Als Basis diente ein 5 x 5 cm grosse MDF Platte, die ich noch von einem anderen Projekt übrig hatte. Das Gelände entstand aus Foam, welchen ich etwas bearbeitet hatte. Alles braun grundiert und dann mit Gras, Sand und kleinen Steinen bestreut. Noch zwei kleine Büsche dazu und schon fertig. Den Hetzer habe ich so wie er ist, von Dragon, aus dem Regal genommen.

At the weekend I found my way into my cellar again and started to build something new. The result is a small diorama which was finished in just a few hours. The base was a 5 x 5 cm MDF board that I had left over from another project. The terrain was made from foam, which I had worked on a little. Everything was primed brown and then sprinkled with grass, sand and small stones. I added two small bushes and I was done. I took the Hetzer as it is, from Dragon, off the shelf.
Heute stelle ich einen weiteren Kran vor. Diesesmal ist es ein Kranwagen der russichen Armee. Die russische Armee hatten auf der Basis des ZIS-5 den Kran aufgebaut. Verwendet wurde er wohl bei Pioniereinheiten, insbesondere für den Fähren- und Brückenbau.
Als Trägerfahrzeug diente der verlängerte ZIS-5 mit 3 Achsen. Der Aufbau konnte ich nach einer Zeichnung umsetzen. Zwar konnte ich in 1/144 nicht alle Details darstellen, im Original ist der Kranarm gelocht, doch den schönen Eindruck des Originals konnte ich dennoch umsetzen.
Der Kranwagen wurde auch von der Wehrmacht genutzt, hierzu fand ich einige Fotos im Internet. Daher habe ich meinen ersten Kranwagen mal in Wehrmacht Grau lackiert. Die nächste Version werde ich dann in russisch grün lackieren.
Der Kranaufbau kann drehbar dargestellt werden, der Ausleger lässt sich auch anpassen.
1/144 ZIS-6 crane truck of the Russian army
Today I am presenting another crane. This time it is a crane truck of the Russian army. The Russian army had built the crane on the basis of the ZIS-5. It was probably used by pioneer units, especially for ferry and bridge construction.
The extended ZIS-5 with 3 axles served as the carrier vehicle. I was able to realize the superstructure according to a drawing. Although I was not able to depict all the details in 1/144, the crane arm is perforated in the original, I was still able to realize the beautiful impression of the original.
The crane truck was also used by the Wehrmacht, and I found some photos of it on the Internet. That's why I painted my first crane truck in Wehrmacht gray. I will paint the next version in Russian green.
The crane superstructure can be rotated and the boom can also be adjusted.

Landing Craft DB pr.165 with 100mm B-24BM Naval Gun "Floating Battery"
Heute stelle ich mein Jahresend-Spezial Modell vor.
Das Modell gab es vor vielen Jahren mal von einer kleinen russischen Firma, AER SLR oder so ähnlich.Die Idee hatte ich schon lange. Sehr schöne Illustrationen des Modells findet man auf der Seite https://www.o5m6.de/redarmy/floatingbattery.php
Wie so oft im Leben, wenn man weiss, nach was man suchen muss, dann finden sich plötzlich ganz viele Informationen. So hatte ich, als ich fast fertig war, sogar eine gute Zeichnung gefunden.
Das 100 mm Schiffsgeschütz wurde auf zwei als Fähre gekoppelte Pontons installiert. Es soll mehrere Fähren gegeben haben, die immer wieder zum Einsatz kamen.
Zum Druck wird es leider dieses Jahr nicht mehr reichen, aber so habe ich noch Zeit und werde wohl auch ein paar kleinere Fehler beheben und weitere Details ergänzen.

The model was made many years ago by a small Russian company, AER SLR or something similar.

As so often in life, if you know what to look for, you suddenly find a lot of information. So when I was almost finished, I even found a good drawing.
The 100 mm naval gun was installed on two pontoons coupled as a ferry. There are said to have been several ferries that were used again and again.
Unfortunately there won't be enough time to print it this year, but I still have time and will probably correct a few minor errors and add more details.
Der AEC Matador war ein robuster bei allen sehr beliebter LKW der britischen Armee. Auch die deutsche Wehrmacht hatte einige erbeutete Exemplare, in ihrem Dienst. Da ich gerade erst die Ford F30 gezeichnet hatte, dachte ich an den gepanzerten Befehlswagen, der auf Basis des AEC MAtador aufgebaut war. Also schnell den Befehlswagen gezeichnet, und dann halt mal wieder einen LKW. Bei der Recherche sah ich, dass der Matador auch oft als Zugfahrzeug für Artillerie diente, weshalb es neben dem LKW auch noch eine neue Kanone gibt. Da die Beine der Atillerie in der Regel recht dünn sind, habe ich das Modell in 2 Positionen gezeichnet, aber halt die Beine nicht beweglich.

The AEC Matador was a robust truck that was very popular with the British Army. The German Wehrmacht also had some captured examples in their service. Since I had just drawn the Ford F30, I thought of the armored command vehicle, which was based on the AEC MAtador. So I quickly drew the command vehicle, and then another truck. During my research, I saw that the Matador was often used as a towing vehicle for artillery, which is why there is a new cannon in addition to the truck. As the legs of the artillery are usually quite thin, I drew the model in 2 positions, but the legs are not movable.

Die meisten denken bei der Long
Range Dessert Group immer an die Chevrolet LKW. Die waren aber nicht die ersten
Fahrzeuge. Begonnen hatte alles mit dem Ford F30. Dieser schien auf den ersten
Blick auch eine gute Wahl. In grosser Anzahl verfügbar, All-Rad-Antrieb und eine große
Ladefläche.
Leider gab es da aber ein
kleines, aber wichtiges Detail, der Ford verbrauchte zu viel Treibstoff. Da die Erkundungsfahrten immer weit hinter die feindlichen Linien gingen, war dies ein sehr wichtiger
Punkt. Hier gibt es zu dem Punkt einen
interessanten Vergleich. Übrigens waren die meisten Aktionen wirklich reine Aufklärungsfahrten, spektakuläre Sabotage-Aktionen oder tollküne Aktionen kamen erst später mit Hollywood dazu.
Mein Modell kommt mit den
beiden Bewaffnungen, die ich gefunden habe, das schwere MG und als Alternative,
das 37 mm MKI Bofors Geschütz. Daneben gibt es noch etwas Zubehör und natürlich 3 der Fahrzeuge. Ausserdem gibt es den amrikaniaschen Jeep dazu, dieser mit den für die LRDG typischen Anpassungen.
Ein typisches Wüsten-Diorama habe ich auch bereits angefangen, aber im Moment bin ich mir noch nicht sicher, welche Gebäude oder Ruinen ich auf das Diorama stelle. Die Bemalung der Fahrzeuge ist auch noch nicht fertig.

LRDG = Long Range Dessert Group
Most people always think of the Chevrolet trucks when they think of the Long Range Dessert Group. But these were not the first vehicles. It all started with the Ford F30. At first glance, this also seemed like a good choice. Available in large numbers, all-wheel drive and a large loading area.
Unfortunately, there was one small but important detail: the Ford consumed too much fuel. Since the reconnaissance trips always went far behind enemy lines, this was a very important point. There is an interesting comparison on this point here. Incidentally, most of the actions were really pure reconnaissance missions, spectacular sabotage actions or daredevil actions only came later with Hollywood.
My model comes with the two weapons I found, the heavy MG and, as an alternative, the 37 mm MKI Bofors gun. There are also some accessories and of course 3 of the vehicles. There is also the Amrikania jeep, this one with the typical LRDG modifications.
I've already started a typical desert diorama, but at the moment I'm not sure which buildings or ruins I'll put on the diorama. The painting of the vehicles is also not finished yet.
