Das Modell als solches habe ich ja schon vorgestellt. Seit ein paar Wochen liegt es auch als Druck auf meinem Basteltisch und wurde immer wieder erfolgreich von rechts nach links geschoben. Die Tage habe ich mich dann mal hingesetzt und angefangen das Modell anzumalen. Eigentlich ging das ganz schnell, grosse Flächen und nur 2 oder 3 Farben. Jetzt geht es weiter mit den Details und den Zubehörteilen.

Zunächst aber mal hier der aktuelle Zwischenstand:

Wie bei so ziemlich allen meinen Schiffen fehlt auch hier die Reling. Das liegt daran, dass die beim Drucken fast immer bricht, oder aber so dick wird, dass es unansehlich wird. Man könnte natürlich mit Faden oder Gitarrendraht hier was probieren, doch oft bin ich dann dafür einfach zu faul. Was ich noch testen muss, ist die Positionierung der beiden Schiffsgeschütze. Hierzu habe ich mir etwas einfallen lassen, enînen Adapter, der entweder als Bolzen zur Befestigung der Geschütze dient, oder umgedreht das Loch auf der Ladefläche verdeckt. Ganz so wie es im Original war. Die wenigen Fotos, die es von den Original Schiffen gibt, zeigen diese übrigens alle ohne die Geschütze. Wahrscheinlich war der Transportraum viel wichtiger als eine Fähre mit 2 Geschützen.

I have already presented the model as such. For a few weeks it has been lying on my desk as a print and has been successfully moved from right to left. The days I sat down and started to paint the model. Actually, it went quite fast, large areas and only 2 or 3 colors. Now it goes on with the details and the accessories.

But first above is the current status.

As with pretty much all my ships, the railing is missing. This is because it almost always breaks during printing, or becomes so thick that it becomes unsightly. You could of course try something with thread or guitar wire here, but often I'm just too lazy for that. What I still have to test is the positioning of the two ship's guns. For this I came up with something, an adapter, which either serves as a bolt for mounting the guns, or upside down covers the hole on the loading area. Just like it was in the original. By the way, the few photos that exist of the original ships show them all without the guns. Probably the transport space was much more important than a ferry with 2 guns.

Das Modell hatte ich schon Anfang des Jahres gezeichnet, dann aber wegen eines dummen Fehlers wieder auf die Seite gelegt. Jetzt ist es fertig und auch schon beim Druck. Der Mörser war ursprünglich im 1. WK entwickelt und eingesetzt worden. Aber er muss wohl so gut gewesen sein, dass die deutsche Wehrmacht alle vorhandenen Exemplare (eins sogar aus einem österreichischen Museum) wieder aktivierte. Meine Version ist die M16, eine verbesserte Version, die Skoda nach vielen Fronterfahrungen dann zum Schluss des 1. Weltkrieges umgesetzt hatte. Aktuell kommt das Modell ohne bewegliche Teile und auch nur als reines Standmodell. Mal sehen, wenn ich den Druck in den Händen habe, werde ich das Rohr doch noch beweglich gestalten. Munition und einen Handwagen finden sich im Innenraum des Kastens.

Ein Diorama im Masstab 1/35 gibt es hier und hier und mehr über das Original findet man hier oder auch hier. Viele Einsatzfotos und andere Details gibt es hier zu sehen.

Das Modell gibt es zwar schon bei Shapeways, auch in 1/144, aber doch recht einfach gehalten und nur als Vollmodell. Ich habe mir da doch die Mühe gemacht und das Modell so dünn wie möglich zu drucken. Ausserdem wird es dann noch eine Fortsetzung geben, zusammen mit dem Tatra T25 will ich das Modell in seine Einzelteile zerlegt und auf den dazu gehörenden Anhängern verlastet, darstellen. wie das in etwas aussehen soll, kann man auf den folgenden Seiten erkennen:

Skoda mortar M16 in 1/144

I had already drawn this model at the beginning of the year, but put it aside because of a stupid mistake. Now it is finished and ready for printing. The mortar was originally developed and used in WW1. But it must have been so good that the German Wehrmacht reactivated all existing examples (one even from an Austrian museum). My version is the M16, an improved version that Skoda had then implemented at the end of WW1 after much front line experience. Currently the model comes without moving parts and also only as a pure standing model. Let's see, when I have the print in my hands, I will make the barrel movable after all. Ammunition and a handcart can be found inside the box.

The model is already available at Shapeways, also in 1/144, but quite simple and only as a full model. I took the trouble to print the model as thin as possible. In addition, there will be a continuation, together with the Tatra T25 I want to show the model disassembled into its individual parts and loaded on the corresponding trailers. How this should look in something, you can see on the following pages:

10/52 1/144 Batterie Todt oder Tod eines Modells auf dem Reissbrett

In meinem Keller liegt noch ein altes Gips Modell von GPM der deutschen Batterie Todt. Die Idee das Geschütz als 3D Modell zu zeichnen, hatte ich schon lange, aber nie fertig gestellt, Dabei wird es jetzt wohl auch bleiben. In den letzten Tagen hatte ich das Modell wieder rausgesucht und ein zu 90% fertiges 3D Modell erstellt. Es wären nur noch wenige Details zu ergänzen gewesen. Aber wie gesagt, Tod auf dem Reissbrett. Beim Hochladen zu Shapeways, (mache ich immer mal wieder, um ein Gefühl für den Preis, die Materialstärke zu bekommen und ob es noch Schwachpunkte oder lose Teile gibt) Der Preis lag da schon bei weit über 80 Euro und ich war ja noch nicht fertig. Deshalb werde ich so doch mal ein Projekt nicht bis zum Ende fortführen und hier alle Bemühungen begraben. Schade, aber die Kosten sind einfach viel zu hoch.

Auf Kampfgruppe144 wurde der Bausatz von GMP mal vor einigen Jahren vorgestellt_: GPM-Bausatz. Der Bunker aus Gips werde ich dann jetzt auch verkaufen, ein fertiges Diorama wäre mir zu gross und würde recht viel Platz wegnehmen.

In my basement is still an old plaster model of GPM of the German battery Todt. The idea to draw the gun as a 3D model, I had for a long time, but never finished, It will now probably remain. In the last few days I had the model out again and created a 90% finished 3D model. There would have been only a few details to complete. But as I said, death on the drawing board. When uploading to Shapeways, (I do every now and then to get a feel for the price, the material thickness and whether there are still weak points or loose parts) The price was already well over 80 euros and I was not yet finished. Therefore, I will so but times a project not continue to the end and bury all efforts here. Too bad, but the costs are just too high.

On Kampfgruppe144 the kit from GMP was presented some years ago_: GPM-kit. The plaster bunker I will sell now, a finished diorama would be too big for me and would take quite a lot of space.

09/52 Henschel Heereslok Nr. 13, eine kleine Lok namens Riesa

Die Lokomotive wurde bereits vor dem Krieg von Henschel in Kassel hergestellt. Mit Beginn des Krieges hat auch die Wehrmacht diese kleine Lokomotive in grösser Zahl angeschafft. Diese leicht veränderte Ausführung wurde wohl dann Riesa genannt. Für Eisenbahnexperten gibt es dann aber auch noch die Bezeichnung Bn2t, die sagt wohl etwas über die Achsfolge aus. Keine Ahnung. Der Ausschlag die Lok zu zeichnen, gab auch etwas ganz anderes. Die Lok wurde während des Krieges auf diversen Feldbahnstrecken mit 600 mm Spurweite eingesetzt, nach dem Krieg, fang man sie vor vielen Trümmerzügen in Deutschlands zerbombten Städten. Heute gibt es noch immer fahrbereite Versionen bei diversen Clubs und Museen. Im Krieg selbst wurden die Henschel Loks zum Bau von Bunkeranlagen, für den Bau von Flughäfen und zur Versorgung der Truppe eingesetzt.

Wem der Begriff Trümmerbahn nichts sagt, nachdem in Deutschland so ziemlich alle Grossstädte in Schutt und Asche gelegt worden waren, musste man / Frau nach der Kapitulation ans Aufräumen gehen. Hierzu wurden oft Feldbahngleise verlegt und mit den leichten Lokomotiven dann die Trümmer und der Schutt in Kipplohren verladen. In Berlin wurde sogar ein ganzer Berg aus dem Schutt gebaut. Okay, ein kleiner Bunker war auch noch darunter versteckt.

Da die Lok auch in weissem Kunststoff gedruckt werden soll, habe ich leider auf einige Details verzichten müssen. Das Gestänge habe ich gleich weggelassen (häre wäre die Wahl zwischen viel zu dick und nicht druckbar gewesen), sowie die Verrohrung am Kessel. Diese wäre auch nicht schön geworden. Auch der Einbau eines Motors ist nicht vorgesehen, die Henschel Lok Riesa gibt es in verschiedenen Masstäben auch motorisiert, ich will aber nur ein Standmodell, welches auch günstig sein soll.

 Henschel light locomotive Riesa in 1/144

The locomotive was manufactured by Henschel in Kassel before the war. With the beginning of the war, the Wehrmacht also purchased this small locomotive in larger numbers. This slightly modified version was probably then called Riesa. For railroad experts, there is also the designation Bn2t, which probably says something about the axle arrangement. No idea. The decision to draw the locomotive was also made by something else. During the war, the locomotive was used on various light railway lines with 600 mm gauge, after the war, it was caught in front of many rubble trains in Germany's bombed cities. Today, there are still running versions at various clubs and museums. During the war itself, Henschel locomotives were used to build bunkers, to build airports, and to supply the troops.

To whom the term Trümmerbahn means nothing, after pretty much all major cities in Germany had been reduced to rubble, one / woman had to go to the cleanup after the surrender. For this purpose, light railroad tracks were often laid and the light locomotives were then used to load the rubble and debris into tipping pits. In Berlin, they even built a whole mountain out of the rubble. Okay, a small bunker was also hidden underneath.

Since the locomotive is also to be printed in white plastic, I unfortunately had to do without some details. I left out the linkage (the choice would have been between much too thick and not printable), as well as the piping on the boiler. This would not have been nice either. Also the installation of an engine is not planned, the Henschel locomotive Riesa is available in various scales also motorized, but I want only a floor model, which should also be cheap.

08/52 Billard T75 als Zuggarnitur für V1 Transport

Ebenfalls fertig geworden ist auch meine erste französiche Lokomotive, die Billard T75. Zusammen mit dem Plattformwagen von 1888 gibt es so gleich 3 neue Sets für den Bereich Schmallspur. Den ersten Artikel hierzu, gab es hier. Sollte ich einen Massstab noch nicht umgewandelt haben und ihr wollt diese Version (1/160 bis 1/72 sind möglich).

Die kleine Lokomotive wurde auch im Bereich einiger Maginot Bunker eingesetzt, innerhalb der Bunker kamen jedoch kleine Elektro oder Batterie-Loks zum Einsatz.

Ich habe schon darauf hingewiesen, die Version mit dem Transport der V1 ist spekulativ, aber es passt halt gut.

Billard T75 and the V1 as transport set

Also finished is my first french locomotive, the Billard T75. Together with the platform car of 1888, there are 3 new sets for the narrow gauge range. The first article about this, was here. If I have not yet converted a scale and you want this version (1/160 to 1/72 are possible).

The small locomotive was also used in the area of some Maginot bunkers, but inside the bunkers small electric or battery locomotives were used.

I already pointed out, the version with the V1 transport is speculative, but it just fits well.

07/52 1/144 Mini U-Boot Delphin

Zum Ende des Krieges wurde das Mini U-Boot Delphin entwickelt. Wie so oft, wurde auch mit diesem zu spät begonnen. Bis zum Kriegsende wurden noch 3 Prototypen gebaut und auch erprobt. Somit kommt es für mich auch in Frage, da ich ja keine Phantasie-Produkte zeichnen möchte.

Das U-Boot sollte entweder ein Torpedo unter dem Rumpf, oder eine Ankermine im Schlepptau mit sich führen. Ich habe mich für den Torpedo entschieden.

Parallel dazu ist mir dann der Gedanke gekommen, das ganze auch mit einem Anhänger darzustellen. Also habe ich, auf Basis der Modellbeschreibung auf der Homepage des Wettinger Modellbauforums, mich  daran gemacht und habe auch einen passenden Anhänger gezeichnet.

At the end of the war the mini submarine Delphin was developed. As so often, this one was started too late. Until the end of the war 3 prototypes were built and tested. Thus it comes for me also in question, since I would like to draw no fantasy products.

The submarine should carry either a torpedo under the hull, or an anchor mine in tow. I decided on the torpedo.

At the same time, I had the idea to represent the whole thing with a trailer. So, based on the model description on the homepage of the Wettinger Modellbauforum, I started to work on it and also drew a suitable trailer.

06/52 Pionierlandungsboot 43 Teil I

Ich bin mal wieder in den Bereich der deutschen Landungsschiffe eingetaucht und habe mir ein weiteres oder besser gesagt, gleich 2 deutsche Landungsschiffe gezeichnet. Allerdings werde ich heute erst eines vorstellen, das andere ist beim Druck durchgefallen und ich muss wohl noch einige Anpassungen machen, so dass es auch sicher gedruckt werden kann. 

Zunächst hatte ich angefangen den Marineartillerieleichter Typ II (MAL II) zu zeichnen. Während des Quellenstudiums habe ich dann festgestellt, dass dieses Design Ausgangspunkt für die Entwicklung de Pionierlandungsbootes 43 war. Der Name sagte mir nicht soviel, weshalb ich in einigen Büchern suchen musste. Im Internet findet man auch nicht wirklich viel zu dem Schiff / Boot. Das Schiff wurde wie viele Landungsboote am Bodensee von der Bodan Werft entworfen und gebaut. Vorgabe war möglichst viele Teile des Marineartillerieleichters Typ II zu verwenden.

Bis zum Ende des Krieges schaffte es die Bodan Werft einige Exemplare fertig zu stellen und diese an die Kriegsmarine bzw. an die Landungstruppen (der Wehrmacht) zu übergeben. Alle Schiffe wurden in der Ostsee eingesetzt und bei Kriegsende selbst versenkt. Wie so oft, ist die Zahl der erhalten gebliebenen Bilder sehr übersichtlich, aber es reichte doch, um das Modell ziemlich exakt umzusetzen. Leider kann ich aber noch immer keine Geländer anbieten, diese brechen beim Reinigen des Modells und dann sieht es nicht mehr schön aus. 

Wie üblich befinden sich alle Zurüstteile im Innern des Schiffes. Neben den Anbauteilen ist auch ein Sturmboot enthalten, da das Pionierlandungsboote am Heck über eine so genannte Sturmboot-Rutsche verfügte.

Bei der Bewaffnung bin ich etwas vom Original abgewichen. statt der 8.8 Flak habe ich die 10.5 cm SK C32 gezeichnet, die gefällt mir besser. Jedoch bin ich mir nicht sicher, ob die Landungsboote überhaupt die Waffen bekommen hatten, Geschütze waren zum Kriegsende hin Mangelware und alle Fotos zeigen die Schiffe nur als Fähre.


Und hier nur die ersten Fotos auf die Schnelle gemacht, ich werde erst in den nächsten Tagen dazu kommen, mit der Bemalung beginnen zu können.

German Pioneer Landing Ship 43 in 1/144

I have once again delved into the realm of German landing crafts and have drawn myself another, or rather, 2 German landing craft at once. However, I will only present one today, the other one fell through at printing and I guess I have to make some adjustments so that it can be printed safely. 

First I had started to draw the Marineartillerieleichter Typ II (MAL II). While studying the sources I found out, that this design was the starting point for the development of the Pionierlandungsboot 43. The name didn't mean that much to me, so I had to search in some books. On the internet you can't really find much about the ship / boat either. The ship was designed and built like many landing craft at Lake Constance by the Bodan shipyard. The specification was to use as many parts of the naval artillery lighter type II as possible.

By the end of the war, the Bodan shipyard managed to complete several examples and hand them over to the Kriegsmarine or to the landing forces (of the Wehrmacht). All the ships were used in the Baltic Sea and were themselves sunk at the end of the war. As is often the case, the number of surviving pictures is very limited, but it was enough to make the model fairly accurate. Unfortunately, however, I still can not offer railings, they break when cleaning the model and then it no longer looks nice. 

As usual, all of the add-on parts are inside the ship. In addition to the attachments, a storm boat is also included, as the pioneer landing craft had a so-called storm boat chute at the stern.
